Bats are our Garden's Best Friends - Guest Speaker Francine Spears introduces us to her pet bat in connection with her excellent presentation on the important role played by bats in California and the rest of the world. Ms. Spears' pet has been with her for 13 years and can be expected to live another 19 years. Pollination is just one of the many tasks assigned by nature to bats.Click here to add text.

Two city sponsored programs are active in Los Angeles: "Trees for a Green LA" and "Million Trees LA". The plan is to plant one million trees over the next several years. This is a partnership between the City of Los Angeles, community groups, businesses and individuals, working to-gether to plant and provide long-term stewardship
of one million tress, planted all over the city with a focus on areas that need it most. Each member of the Los Angeles Garden Club will arrange to plant at least one tree during the club's 75th Anniversary year as our contribution to "Million Trees LA".
